Ethan Sings Bible Class Songs

Here is Ethan's version of "I'm In The Lord's Army". You have to listen closely.

He sings it much better now we just haven't taken any new video of it. It's on my list.

Favorite Time Of Year

My official countdown has begun. Only 34 days til OU football baby! And I am super excited. I'm booked every Saturday, except 2, from August 30th - December 6th. The first game is on PPV which sucks but oh well. Until we shell out the money for season tickets, I'll just have to deal. Plus, it's hard to take Ethan to the games. Zann has been playing NCAA Football 09 since it came out a couple of weeks ago. It's just enough to feed his appetite for college football until August rolls around. I am so ready for Saturdays filled with family, friends, football and fun.

I'll leave you with a picture from the Red/White game.

Oh Zoo

Ethan woke up early from his nap (I'm not even 100% positive he took one) the other day so we decided to make a trip to the zoo. It's been a while since we've gone so we ventured out at 4 pm despite the fact that it was 100+ degrees. Ethan misses the elephants something terrible but gets over it when he gets to see the bears and Nemo.
Ethan wanted to ride the big turtles. Yea...don't think that's going to happen.

I just LOVE this picture!

We fed the ducks for the first time ever! Ethan loved it!

I tried to get a picture of Ethan and Nemo (Bemo as he calls him) but I couldn't ever get him to stand still! Nemo is in the anemone.

We were hot and sweaty and headed home around 7 pm. Maybe next time we'll go early in the morning before it gets too hot. At least we had a good time.

'I Wan Do Dat'

This is Ethan's newest phrase. Whatever he sees, he wants to do. Nothing is too big or too small. One minute it's sports related and the next it's something he saw on a movie. My favorite happened the other night. You've read my post about his obsession with Wall-E? Well, let me give you a little background just in case you haven't seen the movie (which is super cute). Wall-E is a trash compacting robot left on Earth to clean up the humans mess while they live in space. He scoops large amounts of trash into his belly and it comes out in a nice square. Sometimes he'll find something that he just can't bear to compact and he puts it into a little ice chest. When it's quitting time, he slings his ice chest on his back and takes it home with him where he adds the contents to a huge collection of junk. K...got it? In our car is a little ice chest like Wall-E's. On the way home from lunch the other day, Ethan grabbed the ice chest and said 'Mommy I wan do dat like Waww-E' (his e's sound like w's). It was too cute. I guess I need to bring the ice chest in and see what 'treasures' he finds around the house.

Random

We've been busy for the past...well...however long it's been since we've been busy. Last week flew by and today did too. There aren't enough hours in the day.

We met my sister at the Bricktown Ballpark tonight to watch her boyfriend, Wyatt, and his summer league baseball team play. Ethan is always talking about Wyatt. I wish we would've gotten a picture with Wyatt and Ethan.

Last night when I was giving Ethan his bath (Zann's job but he was too busy), he was listening to the water. He'd put his ear in the water and say 'Mommy, I hear the water.' Crazy kid.

Another random thing...Ethan knows 17 letters of the alphabet. He knows A, B, C, D, E, J, K, L, M, N, P, Q, R, S, T, W, Z. We're working on the other ones. We have this big puzzle that has the entire alphabet on it and I'll ask Ethan 'Where is the letter A?' or 'Where is mommy's letter?' (the first letter of my name) and he'll show me. The kid is smart. I'm constantly amazed at what he's picking up on. Guess I better be on my best behavior. Don't want to teach him anything bad.

Well it's 10 pm and we're just now starting a movie. Hopefully I don't fall asleep in the middle. No promises. Tomorrow is a new day with new things on our to do list. Maybe mid-August things will slow down.

Talking Cars VS. Cool Robots

Oh the lovely world of Disney Pixar.

There once was a day where I could entertain Ethan with the movie Cars. I could pop it in his DVD player while we were out running errands and he'd be fine. But sorry Lightening McQueen...you've been replaced by a robot that can turn mountains of trash into 100 story high sky scrappers...
How soon does Wall-E come out on DVD?
Ethan LOVES Wall-E right now. We took him to see it when it came out in the theaters and it's all he talks about. He asks to go see it every day. I thought getting him a Wall-E book would be a good idea but I think it only made the problem worse. We have to read the book all the time! The child is obsessed! When a stranger asks his name, he either says Wall-E or Eve-ah. And he says Eve-ah like Wall-E says it too. It's super cute but super annoying. Oh well. Life goes on.

In Loving Memory

This afternoon, Zann's grandma Ilene passed away. We are thankful for the wonderful times we had with her and know we will meet her again someday.

This picture was taken over Memorial Day weekend...MiMi, Ethan and grandma Ilene.
