Sooners Win 57 - 2

Ordering the first OU football game on PPV...$29.95
Game day food...$53.00
Watching the game with friends and family...Priceless

We had such a great time watching the game...even with the 1.5 hour weather delay! We pretty much dominated the first quarter but only scored 50 points. You gotta feel sorry for the Mocs. I can't imagine what was going through their minds when they found out they were playing the Sooners for the season opener in Norman, one of the loudest stadiums there is in college football. At least we got our 2nd string QB some playing time. Now on to next week and the rest of the season!

Take Me Out To The Ballgame

This past weekend, after moving my sister into her dorm, we went to see the Redhawks play with my parents and some friends of theirs. It was a little hot but we had fun anyway. Ethan enjoyed some ballpark popcorn and a coke which he got all over himself. He even brought his glove in hopes of catching a fly ball.

My hot and tired little boy.

Lamp Down

This morning while doing laundry, I hear a crash in the living room and Ethan yells 'Mommy help me.' He's not crying so he must be okay. Once I'm in the living room, I can't find him. He's not in his usual hiding spots. Again, he's not crying so he's okay. I go all over the house (he's not yelling now) and can't find him anywhere so I think he's just playing hide and seek with me. I go back to my business and he yells at me again. This time I tell him to keep talking so I can locate him. He's behind our couch by the front window with the lamp knocked over and the bulb broken in tiny little pieces around him! I freak out and quickly (but careful not to disturb the broken glass) yank him up and check his extremities. No noticeable injuries or protruding glass. We're good! I then tell him (like I tell him every time he plays back there) not to play behind the couch b/c it's dangerous. He tells me he's sorry and I go clean up the glass. All's well that ends well right? Last week he broke a mirror...

Check out how sharp those broken ends are!

Bed Bugs

What do I do with a child that won't sleep in his bed for whatever reason? Last night he was in our bed at 11:30, 2:30, 3:30 (each time he was promptly taken back to his own bed) and finally at 5 I made him a pallet on the floor! He won't sleep in his bed! I sure hope this is a phase and won't last very long. But it's been going on for about 2 months now. My body can't take the lack of sleep and torture that comes with a rowdy 2 year old bed bug. Mr. Coffee is working overtime this morning.

17 Flags

Last Monday we discovered about 3 red OG & E flags in our backyard. Apparently, someone around us needs more power to run a machine and they have to dig in our backyard to run wire. I wasn't too happy about that. I soon forget about the whole situation since we have more important things going on right now...until this morning...Ethan is in my 'studio' with me looking out the back window and he says 'Mommy there are 17 red flags outside.' I look outside and sure enough there are (that I can see w/out walking outside) 12 red flags and 7 yellow flags stuck in our backyard. What the heck is going on? Do they have the right to come and mark and stick flags all over my property? Can I call OG & E and tell them they can't dig? I am so frustrated about this right now. Anyone who knows my rights as a homeowner (b/c I sure don't) please tell me what to do! I DO NOT want my backyard turned into a construction zone. Ugh...I am so mad!
On a totally different topic...my MIL left this morning after being here for a week to help with the two year old. Mimi thank you so much for taking time out of your life to help us with ours. Ethan is now on mimi detox. It's so hard being 2.

Happy Birthday Carson

Well I'm still here. A little stressed out but here none the less. I won't go into detail what's been going on in our lives. Those of you that know us (and don't just stalk our blog), know why I've been absent for so long. We have been so busy with life that we haven't had time for ourselves. Today we had a busy morning but took time to celebrate Carson's (Ethan's good buddy that moved away) birthday. I still can't believe that little stinker is 2. It was so nice to catch up with our friends. Us adults had a great time and I know the kids did too!
Carson the birthday boy.
Ethan looks like he has lip gloss on but I promise he doesn't.

"I know I got you these monster trucks for your birthday but you don't mind if I play with them while I'm here?"

Carson got this blow up footbal thingie that was pretty cool. The kids loved it!

Laela, Ethan, Carson, Luke and Bennett
All the kiddos reunited again. It's been a while since they've all been together like this.

Ethan was being so silly on the way home. He threw his Crocs off and we had to endure his smelly feet all the way home from Shawnee.

Those are some yucky, smelly, dirty feet.

We hope to have things back to normal this coming week. I'm so ready to get back into a routine. Maybe we'll take some fun pictures to post. I'm not making any promises though.
