Baby Ethan

I found a random camera card in a drawer and it was full of some older pictures of Ethan. Here are just a few of my favorites.

This is probably the fattest Ethan ever got. He's skin and bones now.

Too sweet!

Happy Halloween

Since our child has been so indecisive about his Halloween costume, we opted to celebrate in regular clothes this year. We toured Storybook Forest, roasted hot dogs and marshmallows over an open flame, went on a hay ride and trick-or-treated at aunt Amy's. Ethan now has way too much candy and I've got to find a way to sneak it out of the house.
We had a great time. Now I just need to get the smoke smell out of my hair and clothes. Ahh...campfires.
P.S. Happy Birthday, Papa!

School

For the longest time, Ethan has been asking me if he can go to 'cool'. He has been on a few waiting lists for various mother's day out programs for a few months with no luck (I'm sure the directors are getting sick of me calling and checking on his status). So I decided to call a new one yesterday and they had room for him! I waited til this morning to tell Ethan and he was beyond ecstatic. We got all dressed, packed his backpack and were out the door by 8:30 am. As soon as we got there, he jumped in and started playing. I worried about how he was doing all day. Did he eat a good breakfast? Did he play nice? Did he eat a good lunch? Did he take a nap? When I went to pick him up, he didn't want to leave! I think he'll be just fine. Me on the other hand...well it'll take some getting used to.

Can you tell he's excited? I can't believe how big my little boy is getting.

Playing By The Rules

If you've noticed, I've been wearing my glasses for the past 4 or 5 months. I wish it were b/c I'm getting lasik. Nope not happening. I have severe dry eye and allergies which is messing with my vision something fierce. Therefore, contacts are pretty much out of the question for me at the moment. When I went to my eye doc about 4 months ago, he asked me, and I quote, "How would you feel if I sentenced you to your glasses?" With to which I replied, "Are you serious?" Yep he was so I've suffered since. I went back yesterday and he had some good news. I can wear my contacts for 1 day if I wear my glasses for 3 days after. So 1 in 3 out (contacts) is a great compromise. I'm really getting sick of my glasses but I've tried to follow my docs rules. I've only cheated 2 or 3 times.

I have to suffer my glasses probably til about mid April (when my contact supply will run out with the new rule of 1 day in 3 days out). But after that I get to try some new contacts and maybe these will solve my issues.

In other news...Ethan still hasn't decided what he wants to be for Howoween. First, he wanted to be Tigger so I searched and searched for a Tigger costume. Then, he changed his mind and wanted to be Super Why. Now, he wants to be Speed Racer. Not sure what to do. Buy all 3 costumes and hide them then ask him on Halloween what he wants to be? Oh he also said he wanted to be a dinosaur. He's still too young to trick or treat but we'll probably Haunt the Zoo. When he wanted to be Tigger, he told me I needed to be Darby, Zann needed to be Pooh (hilarious to think about) and Molly was going to be Buster...from the show My Friends Tigger and Pooh. I wish I could put a video camera on that kid 24-7. He is so funny. I'll keep you posted on the costume situation. Hope you have a happy Tuesday.

P.S. I've added a new 'item' to Studio M. You can now choose 4 single cards and make your own 'set'. Go check it out!

As promised, here are pictures from the game.

We went to the game with our friends Chris and Chandra. Here are the boys about to see the 3 living OU Heismen trophy winners.

And I was the only one brave enough to ask for pictures with them. I'd met Billy and Steve before but it was my first time meeting Jason.

We gave my sister our good tickets and this is how close she was to the field. That's Mark Mangino, the Kansas head coach who used to coach under Stoops.

We didn't mean to dress alike. Look how awesome her seats were!

And then you have our view...it wasn't horrible but it also wasn't section 1, row 9, seats 3 and 4.

The Sooner Schooner out on the field after one of the many touchdowns.

We had a fun weekend in Norman. It's nice to be home though.

Whirlwind of a Weekend

Is it bad that the first thing I did (after transferring Ethan to his bed and unpacking the car) when we got home from the game was check hop online? I've been without internet for over 24 hours and I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss out on anything important. I am pathetic. We went to a dinner/lecture and got free tickets to the OU game. They even put us up in a hotel...the exact same hotel the OU players stay at before home games. I even bumped into a few OU celebs at the game but you'll have to wait til tomorrow to see who they are. I actually had my camera with me this time.

Boomer Sooner

I know we lost today but I still have much love for my Sooners. I can't stand Texas (hate is such a strong word so I'll refrain from using it but that's really how I feel) and losing to them makes me sick...literally! I almost lost my baked potato soup a few times. And the zebras sucked it up big time today. I'm not blaming the lose on them but they sure didn't help by calling a one sided game. Don't you worry though...we'll be back on top soon.
P.S. At least our cheerleaders, pom squad, Ruf Neks and band have classy uniforms without fringe and chaps. Seriously. Do they think that looks good?

Tomorrow

Tomorrow. Tomorrow. I love ya tomorrow. You're only a day away.

Past years...

In 2000, OU had the highest series scoring total since 1900 with a 63-14 victory. In 2001, Roy Williams' diving hit on Texas quarterback Chris(sy) Simms resulted in an interception and touchdown for Teddy Lehman and a victory for the Sooners.
In 2002, Quentin Griffin scooped up a teammate's fumble and stepped two yards into the end zone to capture the lead for OU. In 2003, the Sooners won their fourth straight victory over the Longhorns by the largest margin in the series' history, 65-13. In 2004, the Sooners handed the Longhorns their first shutout in 24 years, 12-0. How do you like them apples? 2005 and 2006 aren't important enough to mention. 2007, last year, we came away with a 28-21 victory over the pukes from the South.
That's how we roll. Bring on 2008!

Waiting...Patiently

This week is officially OU/TX week. It started immediatly (read in an Al Eschbach voice for dramatic effect) after the OU/Baylor game on Saturday (which wasn't much of a game at all!). I am super excited for this game. So to all you OU fans, I leave you with this great story.
A first grade teacher explained to her class that she is a Texas Longhorns fan. She asked her students to raise their hands if they are Texas fans too. Not really knowing what a Texas fan was, but wanting to be liked by their teacher, their hands fly into the air. There was, however, one exception. A little girl named Lauren didn't follow the crowd. The teacher asked her why she has decided to be different.
"Because I'm not a Texas fan" she replied.
"Then" asked the teacher, "What are you?"
"I'm a proud University of Oklahoma - Boomer Sooner fan" boasts the little girl.
The teacher is a little perturbed now, her face slightly red (ironic). She asks Lauren why she is an Oklahoma fan.
"Well, my Dad and Mom are both Sooner fans, so I'm a Sooner fan too." she proudly responds.
The teacher is angry now. "That's no reason," she says loudly. "What if your mom was a moron, and your dad was an idiot. What would you be then?
"Lauren smiled and said, "Then I'd be a Texas fan!"

Good OU/Texas humor.
BOOMER!!!!

Family Fun Night

Yesterday afternoon we ventured to the zoo. We had to have our roof replaced so we needed a break from all the pounding. They came bright and early on Wednesday morning and worked til sundown. Then, they were back on Thursday and then we got to see them again on Friday. They finally finished last night after dark and I'm so happy to have my yard, driveway and sanity back. I had no idea it would take that long. At least Ethan didn't mind it. He wanted to climb up there and help. Now for some pictures from the zoo...

We rode both trains. It was family fun night (we had no idea) so everything was free. That's about all we did though. Too many people = claustrophobic TM.

Ethan peeking in at the flamingos.

Daddy and ET by the giant anaconda! Notice they are both giving a thumbs up.

Now I must return to the OU game. I stopped at half time to do some things and now I need to go back and keep watching. Thank goodness for DVRs.

MacBook Fun

This is what Ethan likes to do with his aunt Amy...take pictures on her MacBook. I'm thinking about getting this one printed so I can frame it. Have a happy Friday. Be sure to check out the Studio M blog. I'm starting something new...a feature Etsy seller every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Also, be looking for some new cards on Studio M.

Especially for the Grandparents

Ethan just started singing this one afternoon.

I know it's missing a few words. We're working on that. He also knows his ABC's and The Itsy Bitsy Spider. I tried to get those on video as well but ET just kept goofing off.
